Gnosticism, as far as I have learned may bemore exclusivist than elitist, because it wasn’t until recently that itsMystical Sect’s books were available to the public (not to mention that thereare not many people on the path to enlightenment or wish to seek out themysteries of the universe!). I suggest that Gnosticism is more egalitarian thanelitist and I will outline two examples or parables from the Gospel of Thomasas an example of each and discuss why Gnosticism is more egalitarian thanelitist..

1. Gnosticism is egalitarian because…

Gospel of Thomas 64. Jesus said, "A person was receiving guests. Whenhe had prepared the dinner, he sent his slave to invite the guests.

The slave went to the first and said to that one, 'My master invites you.'That one said, 'Some merchants owe me money; they are coming to me tonight. Ihave to go and give them instructions. Please excuse me from dinner.'

The slave went to another and said to that one, 'My master has invited you.'That one said to the slave, 'I have bought a house, and I have been called awayfor a day. I shall have no time.'

Personal thoughts: This parable seems to me like the doorshave been open to those who wish to seek attendance at the unveiling of the mysteriesof the universe. (and they would thus gravitate” towards reunification with theOgdoad). Therefore, suggesting that pathways to God were (are) open to any who are willing (who are not buyers and merchants could mean those who revere material wealth over love/unification).

However, it could also be true, that thereis type of elitism involved, but it would only be applied to the title of theLamb or the one who claims to be Jesus or Horus in the Second Coming

Personal notes: So, perhaps there is a spotheld for One particular person, but there are many other sparks or “seats” tobe filled! One saved seat does not necessarily mean elitism!  There is reference to this sheep parable in adifferent way in a different Gospel in the Nag Hammadi collection. The Book ofBaruch by Justin [5] is followed by a list of angels who are also refered to as“trees” and  “The company of all theseangels together constitutes paradise… [6] The angels of paradise are called,allegorically, trees, and the tree of life is Baruch…” (Meyer, 2005 p. 269).What would happen if one of these trees was felled thus causing paradise todissolve? Much like the parable of the woman with the jar that broke and leakedout to realize there was nothing left in the jar when she arrived home in theGospel of Thomas? Could the parable of the cornerstone also fit here? Couldparadise be resurrected if that lost sheep or tree is found and returns home???Could Humpty Dumpty get put together again using this missing piece, or thislost sheep, big fish, and/or cornerstone? Perhaps in order to put Paradiseback together again, we need all the pieces. This could be seen as the parableof the sparks at the beginning. The parable of the yeast leavening the wholeloaf (Thomas 96.) and resembles the story of Isis and Osiris as she gathered uphis pieces, which gives rise to the resurrection of Horus or Jesus as mentionedlast meeting). So, perhaps there are certain key spots that are reserved, butthe sparks are many. I could see how it could be considered elitist becausethere are certain pieces that come together, but it could also be seen thatthose pieces are those who search and are considered “perfect” or worthy. The rulers create a myth of power because they control legions of soldiers, even tho without soldiers they are powerless. So this puppet theatre remains , with politicians, military, police serving as protective layers to society which accepts this structure because it works today. The mythological layers of heaven formed much the same way. An ideal existance was broken by a smart-ass angel not happy with the politics of heaven, and took with him, bands of angels. The way heaven broke up, must have been known to God in advance, so the reality is He ordered this as a natural course of events, so as not to continue forever with the same lot of singing angels. I cant imagine a better way out - heaven turning into a mystery, leaving life in hell as the only way back to promised life. Protestant work ethic .. allows parasites into their fold by such promise as equal opportunity . and anti discrirmination .. All great ideals just like communism .. but we dont have an ideal world, Nothing like it .. Samaritan laws allow corruption, as the "government" lets strangers into its fold, who lay bias in the workplace.  An example is Politics. which frustrates anyone trying to disclose fraud.

Australian radio, & theatre production.. prefers openly gay staff ..To a point that programs are filled with gay innuendo which assaults straight listeners.Prejudice with innuendo .. shop assistants start to influence employ of their own kind .. Chinese , are taking over postoffices ..everywhere .. an example of work network bias..even tho its preference due to opportuinity, its human bias.

Capitalism has inherited corruption dur to competitive motivation & profit.

There is no other influence.. it does not matter how it started, cal it an accident, the main thing is HOW it develops , it has done by all illegal advantage players had courage to throw .. Drugs started half the worlds hotel chains. The days of a family business growing up to starbucks size is only done thru birds of a feather investment .. I think this is the first post of yours that actually went through and wasn't broken lines of thought. Thank you for the moment of clarity and I have to admit I agree with a lot you are saying. The links still don't work, but I will try to keep searching. It is not that nature keeps one step ahead, it's that 'man' detatches and pushes itself away from God then blames God for it. God stayes the same luminescent ball in the 'sky' -it is our perpective that changes.  We obsure ourselves from it. Nature is the mirror representation of this.

I don't know why I have to quote and reply - and I can't delete the repetition of the above quote [plus I'm not sure where my replies are going, but here are my thoughts lol. Yes, perhaps it doesn't matter HOW it develops - that would save me a long drawn out thesis! thanks for that! but develops is the key word that causes the problems. The definition of development is the problem. Neoliberal definitions of development are the cause of the problem. So called advancements in the name of 'development' are destructive and destroy 3rd world resources and land, scratch that- it's come full circle and ended up back here too. We are duped into thinking that development is good, but it is use as an excuse to exploit.  I would suggest a reconstruction of the definition of development - one that is more inclusive and utiizes talents and togetherness, rather than destruction, selfishness and greed. Those are things of the past.

And just because someone prefers not to be selfish, it doesn't mean that they're a communist - sheesh. Free yourself from ignorance!!! BALANCE THE TALENTS!!!
